A virtual assistant — always available — completes the experience, providing precise, up-to-date answers to the most frequent questions about active calls for applications.
Navigating by goal, not by structure
The redesign of the information architecture draws on benchmarking of comparable regional agencies that have successfully adopted user-oriented navigation models. The primary navigation combines a structural menu covering the full offer with an “Info for” section — a user-centric aggregator for start-ups, SMEs and public bodies. A rigorous cross-cutting taxonomy — recipient, sector, programme, status — powers the search engine and ensures every grant is reachable through multiple pathways. Each opportunity has a standardised entry, structured to deliver practical answers directly.
WordPress, SPID/CIE and native accessibility: a modern public sector infrastructure
The portal is built on WordPress with a custom theme compliant with AgID guidelines and native WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility.
The modular architecture ensures editorial autonomy and ease of update over time. The reserved area integrates federated authentication via SPID/CIE through ARPA Regione Toscana, in continuity with the regional digital ecosystem: on first access, an onboarding flow allows users to define their profile, areas of interest and calls for applications to follow. The CMS is configured with differentiated roles (RBAC) and LDAP/SAML integration with the corporate Active Directory.
Artificial intelligence in service of regional funding
The portal integrates an AI assistant based on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology within the reserved area. The chatbot answers questions about calls for applications by drawing directly from the site’s official content: it does not generate generic responses, but cites its sources and returns operational information — eligibility criteria, deadlines, links to application forms — in plain, accessible language.
