Build an interoperable, scalable digital infrastructure for E-RIHS — the European consortium for heritage sciences — capable of connecting scientific communities, laboratories and institutions at a continental scale. Guarantee coordinated access to distributed tools, data and expertise, overcoming the fragmentation that characterises research in the Heritage Science field.
Our response
Contribute to the design of E-RIHS’s digital architecture and the development of web modules for the integrated management of research resources, using interoperable solutions based on European standards. Make the digital ecosystem accessible and functional for researchers and stakeholders through a UX designed for scientific environments, with consistent attention to clarity and informational coherence.
An architecture for heritage science
The design of E-RIHS’s digital infrastructure began with an analysis of service access flows and user behaviours — researchers, institutions and European laboratories. The information architecture was structured to orientate different audiences among the four integrated platforms (ARCHLAB, DIGILAB, FIXLAB, MOLAB), ensuring navigational coherence and clarity of access to resources distributed across a European scale.
Interoperability and data in the service of research
Development of E-RIHS’s digital components focused on the integration of distributed systems and the structured management of metadata, adopting European interoperability standards. The web modules developed support coordinated access to research services and the connection between the infrastructure’s national nodes, facilitating the sharing of data and expertise between partner institutions across Europe.
