A digital system connecting universities, businesses and graduates

The goal
Completely overhaul the Consorzio Interuniversitario AlmaLaurea website, transforming it into a digital platform capable of meeting the needs of diverse stakeholders: universities, businesses, institutions, students and graduates. Organise a layered information heritage — data, statistics, services, job offers — through clear navigation paths modelled on the real profiles of users.

Our response
A new information architecture structured around specific user journeys, where each audience immediately finds the relevant content: services for Universities, Businesses, Institutions, Students and Graduates. A browsing experience articulated across three core areas — Orientation, Training, Work — with direct access to operational functions: job offer search, CV creation, graduate database. A platform where “Data” — the Consortium’s core asset — occupies a position of prominence.

Strategy & Design

Target-based structure: turning complexity into clarity

The redesign started from a thorough analysis of the behaviours and needs of the various stakeholders. The information architecture was modelled on dedicated user journeys, eliminating fragmentation and restoring immediate legibility to a complex ecosystem: 84 member universities, over 4 million CVs, annual surveys on the profile and employment status of graduates. The UI highlights AlmaLaurea’s distinctive assets — statistical data, annual reports, CV database — making them accessible and navigable. Each section is designed to guide the user towards concrete actions: browsing job offers, creating a curriculum, exploring postgraduate courses or accessing placement services.

Technology & Development

A scalable platform for an evolving ecosystem

The site is built with open source technologies ensuring robustness, scalability and integration with the Consortium’s existing systems. The backend architecture was designed to handle significant data volumes — CV database, job offers, survey results — ensuring high performance even under peak traffic. The system’s modular structure allows complete editorial autonomy: Consortium operators can update content, publish new surveys, manage events and services through an intuitive administration interface. Advanced search features, filters by subject area and institution, and integration with the CV database were implemented to give users precise and immediate tools.
