A brief history
In November 2017, the First Italian Conference on Citizen Science was held in Rome. In 2018, two roundtables were organised under the H2020 DITOs project, bringing together national stakeholders to outline a strategic framework for the development of Citizen Science in Italy — culminating in the publication of a dedicated policy brief. These events laid the groundwork for the process of disseminating and structuring citizen science across the country.
Today
Building on the H2020 projects EU-Citizen.Science and Action Project, the Italian Citizen Science (CSI) national meeting aims to organise the Italian citizen science network, open a discussion on structuring the network among the country’s experts, and establish the Italian citizen science association.
The event will take place on 11 and 12 November, in person and in compliance with current Covid regulations, with a live stream also available on the CSI Facebook page and on the website of the Museo di Storia Naturale della Maremma.
Net7 will take the floor on 11 November during the afternoon session, presenting the COESO project: Citizen Science in the humanities and social sciences.
