ATRIUM (Advancing fronTier Research In the arts and hUManities) is an EU-funded research project launched in January 2024, running over four years. The project connects four major European Research Infrastructure Consortia (ERICs): DARIAH (arts and humanities), ARIADNE (archaeology), CLARIN (languages) and OPERAS (open scholarly communication in the social sciences and humanities), and brings together 17 partners and 12 affiliates from 12 countries across Europe.
The project’s objective is to make innovative contributions to the consolidation and expansion of services — including data services — specifically in the field of archaeology. ATRIUM’s primary goals are:
- Improving access by enhancing the quality of metadata in existing catalogues and repositories
- Making research widely available by reaching diverse communities across Europe, with a particular focus on participatory science and people with disabilities.
- Creating workflows so that researchers can learn how best to apply digital methods to their work.
- Facilitating training through a range of project initiatives: the ATRIUM Skill Assessment, ATRIUM Bridge and the ATRIUM Curriculum.
- Establishing a peer review framework to maintain the research outputs essential to building and maintaining research infrastructures.
- Reinforcing data management practices by establishing a smooth flow of data between various services.

Within ATRIUM, Net7 will focus on enhancing the GoTriple.eu Discovery Platform — created in a previous European research project (TRIPLE) and in whose development the company played a significant role.
Net7’s work in ATRIUM encompasses the implementation of dedicated connectors to integrate content from multiple sources, including the German National Library; improved interoperability with other catalogues through the use of semantic web technologies; enhanced FAIR support; improvements to metadata processing; and a general refactoring of the software architecture, with the aim of making GoTriple more scalable and efficient.
