Accessibility beyond the Accessibility Statement: public administration websites

Accessibility beyond the Accessibility Statement: public administration websites

Accessible websites and apps are more efficient in terms of performance, easier to navigate, and use language suited to everyone.

What approach should the Public Administration therefore take with regard to its legal obligations on web accessibility?

  • Adapt to the needs of citizens and anticipate them.
  • Provide more effective, usable and responsive tools, where services and information are easy to find.
  • Make public bodies more inclusive towards different types of users, who access digital tools in a variety of ways — assistive technologies, mobile devices and more.
  • Signal to citizens that the PA is attentive to their needs and present.
  • Break down digital barriers, just as physical barriers are removed from our cities.

On Thursday 7 December, from 11:30 online and free of charge, Net7 will host the webinar ‘Accessibility for digital products of Public Administrations’.

Among the topics covered:

  • Accessibility: general principles.
  • Accessibility of PA digital products (Law no. 4/2004, known as the ‘Legge Stanca’, and subsequent amendments).
  • Obligations for the PA.
  • The accessibility statement towards AGID.
  • The RTI offering.
